Working With & Not Against God| Linking Rings

What you need:
- Linking Rings – You can purchase these from Amazon at the link below:
- LOTS OF PRACTICE!
Preparation:
Start out by having the rings on your left arm at the elbow in this order:
- Set of 3 connected rings furthest up your arm
- Trick ring with slot
- Set of 2 connected rings next
- 2ea single solid rings nearest your hand
Lesson:
Today I am going to do a Christian Illusion that will absolutely blow your minds! Oh yes, it is a Christian Illusion and not a magic trick because we DON’T DO MAGIC do we? Oh no indeed.
But today I need a helper to make this whole thing work. I need someone sitting up straight, with only one hand in the air, who isn’t making a single peep and has a big smile on their face.
PICK A VOLUNTEER AND HAVE THEM COME UP
This is going to be very simple. I have a bunch of rings here that we are both going to be working with. Your job is pretty easy… just do what I do and I’m sure everything will work out. So right now I want you to take these two solid rings and link them together. Go right ahead.
HAND YOUR VOLUNTEER THE 2 SINGLE WHOLE RINGS AND HAVE THEM TRY TO CONNECT THEM
It can be a little bit difficult at first so I am going to show you how ok? You get the two rings and hold them right next to each other. Take your least favorite hand and grab the two rings at the top, then take your favorite hand, snap your fingers, smack the top of your least favorite hand and then drop one of the rings. And BOOM they are connected.
TAKE THE 2 RINGS THAT ARE ALREADY CONNECTED AND GO THROUGH THE STEPS YOU JUST DESCRIBED. DROP ONE OF THE RINGS AND IT WILL LOOK LIKE 2 SEPARATE RINGS BECAME LINKED. YOUR VOLUNTEER WILL TRY IT ALSO AND WILL FAIL MISERABLY.
Hmmm… that’s weird. Can you try it again? Hold it, then SNAP, POP and DROP.
THEY WILL FAIL AGAIN
Ok, let me show you one more time. You take these two connected rings and I will take one of those rings and watch closely. Grab the two rings, place them side by side. Least favorite hand on top, SNAP, POP and DROP.
TRADE THEM. GIVE THEM YOUR 2 CONNECTED RINGS AND EXCHANGE IT FOR ONE OF THEIR SOLID RINGS. TAKE THE TRICK RING WITH THE SLOT CUT IN IT OFF YOUR ARM AND THEN GO THROUGH THE ROUTINE YOU DID BEFORE. THIS TIME USING THE SLOT IN THE TRICK RING, CONNECT THE 2 RINGS FIRST BEFORE DROPPING THE 2ND RING. COVER THE SLOT THE WHOLE TIME.
I can even take them apart but to make this happen I have to do it in reverse. Put the rings together, POP, SNAP and pull them apart.
DO THE ROUTINE IN REVERSE AND YOU WILL HAVE A SOLID RING AND THE TRICK RING SEPARATED ONCE AGAIN
It really isn’t that hard but since you are having a tough time with this, let’s try something else. Let’s try three of them at once!
SLIP THE TRICK RING AND THE 2 CONNECTED RINGS ONTO YOU OTHER ARM AT THE ELBOW AND THEN TAKE THE SET OF THREE CONNECTED RINGS INTO YOUR HANDS
This time follow my lead very closely indeed. Hold all three together with your least favorite hand on top. Take your favorite hand, snap your fingers TWICE, pop the rings TWICE and drop two of the rings, one at a time. Just like this.
NOTE: To make this part funny you can make your description of doing this REALLY complicated just to be funny i.e. take the top ring, twist it twice, swing it around the side, give it a shake, snap your fingers twice, pick the middle ring up and then…
GRAB ALL THREE RINGS AT THE TOP. SLIP THE 2 SOLID RINGS INTO THE SLOT OF THE TRICK RING AND DROP EACH OF THE 2 SOLID RINGS ONE AT A TIME SHOWING THAT THEY ARE ALL CONNECTED
Now you try it… put that single ring and those 2 connected rings together.
THEY WILL TRY AND FAIL… ACT FRUSTRATED.
I do not know what is going on here… this just isn’t working! I AM GETTING SO FRUSTRATED! Are you getting frustrated? Argh… BUT WAIT! I JUST THOUGHT OF SOMETHING! Do you know whose rings these are? Yes, they are mine!
So who would be the best person to know how they work? Me right?
And that make me think… who made you and me? GOD? YES! So would best know how our lives should work? Of course, GOD! That is why He gave us His Word… so we would know how to be saved and how to live our lives to be all that we can be for Him. God just knows how we work.
When the rings are in the magician’s hands amazing things can happen and when your life is in God’s hands amazing things can also happen! God can make you into something SO INCREDIBLE! Something that you could never be on your own without Him.
So instead of you trying to do this on your own, why don’t you work WITH the person that knows how the rings work? The same way that we should work with God to make a wonderful life instead of working on our own. So all we have to do is let the rings be in my hands, the same way our lives should be in His hands.
HOLD THE TRICK RING WITH YOUR HAND COVERING THE SLOT AND THE OTHER TWO RINGS LINKED ONTO AND HANGING FROM IT
I am going to take this other ring here and together we are going to pass it through this ring but I need your help to do it. Make a snap, pop my hands and watch what happens.
SLIP THE SOLID RING INTO THE SLOT AND WHEN YOUR VOLUNTEER SNAPS AND POPS, DROP THE RING SO IT IS LINKED WITH THE OTHERS. DO THIS WITH EVERY SINGLE RING AND SETS OF RINGS YOU HAVE UNTIL THEY ARE ALL LINKED ON THE TRICK RING. WHEN YOU DO TWO RINGS, HAVE YOUR VOLUNTEER SNAP, SNAP; POP, POP.
When you put your life in God’s hand and work with Him instead of trying to do it all on your own, life gets SO MUCH EASIER.
