Fiery Darts of the Wicked – Cannon

What you need:
- Full-size, round, garden style trash can with a hole cut into the bottom (about 6” diameter). You can buy these at Walmart for about $10.
- Shower curtain over the top held on with bungee cords – You need a heavy duty one that will not rip like the one linked below
- Optional but very cool: Add a rope for a strap to the trash can so you can sling it over your shoulder.
- Styrofoam cups (any size)
- Smoke machine – I use the one below can be purchased from Amazon.com using the link below
- Shields of faith made out of pieces of cardboard OR you can use the trash can lid itself
Prep:
- Cut an approximately 6″ hole in the very center of the bottom of a trash can. Most cans will have a circle already on the bottom that you can just follow using a razor knife.
- Cover the top with the shower curtain and wrap bungee cords around the lip to hold it on tightly. For extra insurance I also use a staple gun and put staples in the curtain and trash can all around the edges. This helps make sure the curtain doesn’t start to sag once it is beat upon.
- After the shower curtain is very secure you can cut away the excess curtain leaves a lip of around 2 inches or so all around.
- Fill the trash can through the hole in the bottom with smoke from the smoke machine. When the hit the shower curtain (you don’t have to do it very hard at all), you will see a perfect ring of smoke shoot out of the bottom of the can which can travel 40 feet or more! IT IS AWESOME!
- Note: This effect is GREATLY enhanced by proper lighting. Play with the lights to see what works best for you.
Lesson:
Many times as we try to live for God we are bombarded with attacks from:
- Our flesh – these gross bodies want to do things sometimes that aren’t what God wants – we need to do what’s right even though we don’t want to
- From our “friends” – people who say they are our friends but all they want to do is make us do things God doesn’t want us to
- From the devil – there is a REAL devil who does not want us to live for God
He CANNOT make us do what we don’t want to do. Sometimes we blame the devil for some things he didn’t even do. He’s just too stupid to think of them.
These cups today are going to represent our walk with God.
Hand out cups and have the kids put them on their heads. Tell them they cannot touch them with their hands at all, they must just balance them on their heads without help.
THE DEVIL is out to mess up your walk with God and sometimes if he can’t trip you up with the little things in life he pulls out the BIG GUNS!
Pull out trash can and fill it with smoke
Has anyone ever heard of the “FIERY DARTS OF THE WICKED”?
Start shooting smoke rings and use them to knock the cups off their heads
HOW CAN WE SURVIVE?

Some people have a LOT of faith AND some people have TINY amounts of faith
